Potassium Bicarbonate

A white salt that is useful for offsetting the low pH environment of some fermented beverages, along with other benefits.

What For

Add to a must to act as a pH buffer and provide potassium for ethanol transport across the yeast cell membrane.

Suggested Dosing

2.6 grams per 5L, doubled when high acidic ingredients (cherries, pomegranate etc) are present in the ferment. Use our Mead Batch Builder to calculate your dose.

Storage

Dated expiration. Store at 18°C (65°F). Once opened, keep tightly sealed and dry.
